PAVE EDGE with Natural Stone
Follow standard installation techniques for laying pavers except:
1 - After base is compacted, screed the bedding sand and start installing the natural stone. Start by placing the first pieces along the PAVE EDGE. Try to arrange the natural stone in a way that keeps joint width to a minimum. Some pieces may need to be saw cut or split to achieve a tight fit. If the stone rocks when in place or sits too high or low relative the the surrounding pieces, a little sand may need to be added or removed from the bedding layer.
2 - With all the stones in place, use a broom to fill the joints with a 3/8" Clean Aggregate (no fines). If there are any voids between natural stone and PAVE EDGE, fill with the same aggregate. When the joints are full, sweep excess material off the surface.
3 - Next, sweep SandLOCK PREMIX, or course sand mixed on site with SandLOCK ADDITIVE, over the surface to fill the remaining voids between the aggregate in the joints. This will help bind the 3/8" Clean Aggregate together. Continue sweeping until the joints are full. Sweep off all the excess SandLOCK PREMIX, this can be stored in a sealed container for use on a future project. NOTE - Unlike pavers, a plate compactor is not recommended to be used on top of the natural stone.
4 - Using a leaf blower, blow off the surface to remove any remaining SandLOCK material. Be careful not to blow out the joint material.
5 - Finally, activate the SandLOCK material by saturating the surface with a garden hose.
